Bubwith's 5th Annual Beer Fesitival ~ A Great Success!
27 Oct 2011
Bubwith's 5th Beer and Cider Festival went down a real storm this year, on October 8th. Guests were treated a great selection of beers put on by Louise Smith from The Jug & Bottle, Bubwith's very own specialist real ale and cider off licence. Punters had 14 beers to choose from and 5 ciders and Perry's.
Whilst the drinking went on Dave Smith, York Blue's guitarist played who was then followed by Beverly band Reloaded.
There were intervals for the ever popular and high quality Hog Roast from D&Y Taylors of Stamford Bridge and a great Auction and raffle with prizes from local man Paul Blackett who kindly donated a 5Kg Toblerone from Kraft and Anna Longthorp donated £150 of free range pork. Along with a drinks fridge crammed with beer and wine donated from The Jug & Bottle and a wide range of drink and food in the raffle these two raised £1,100 helping the grand total to £4,000 once again this year.
All proceeds are split equally between the two organisations from within Bubwith; Friends of Bubwith School and Bubwith Tennis Club. The Committee of 9 would like to thank all who came and supported this year and to the 24 sponsors fo the event. Without both, we woudn't have such a successful event!
Next year's festival is on Saturday 13th October 2012.
