Tour de Yorkshire and Bubwith
Ever since the Tour de Yorkshire raced through Bubwith, we have had a steady stream of cyclists make the Jug & Bottle part of their day out.
In 2016, Stage 1 of the Tour, started in Beverley on Friday 29 April with a 186km ride across Yorkshire to Settle. The route through the East Riding passed through Holme on the Wolds and Market Weighton and included a sprint point in Bubwith source. It was an exciting time for the village!
The Tour de Yorkshire (Le Tour Yorkshire) is a three-day professional cycle race running across Yorkshire. The race began as a legacy event following the success of the visit of the 2014 Tour de France to the county.
Cycling through Bubwith has its advantages. A trip over our iconic Grade II Derwent Bridge is not to be missed. Beautiful winding roads and straight shots to pick up speed. You don’t have to be a professional though to get on your bike. We have all stages of athletes come through our doors.
We have compiled a list of published cycling routes you could take around the Bubwith area.

Coming to Bubwith?
The Bubwith Leisure & Sports Centre will be starting construction soon on a BMX Pump Track as well as a “learn to ride” area for budding cyclists to gain proficiency.
Taking any of these routes will leave you hungry and of course thirsty. Give yourself a break by stopping in at The Jug & Bottle for a sandwich, lite bite salad or some cake (we never judge).
We have tables set up outside you can rest at and bicycle stands on site.
We happily refill water bottles and can sometimes accommodate large cycling groups on Sundays and Mondays for coffee and cakes if made by prior arrangement via info@jugandbottle.co.uk
We are open Tuesday – Saturday from 10:00 am – 5:30 pm
